Take A Quick Tour

File Explorer ()

The main WhistleBox page is called the File Explorer. It should look familiar to you because it looks similar to an email inbox. It provides you with a single integrated view, so you can manage and organize all of your documents in one place.

Tour

Folder Pane ()

On the left side of the Explorer is the Folder Pane which shows all of your folders in a tree like structure. At the top is your "Box" folder and any custom folders you create. Each Box contains a private Trash Folder where all deleted files will be moved. When somebody uploads or sends a file to your account, it will be deposited into the specified Box you provide. You can then organize files by moving them to sub-folders.

Folder Actions ()

Use the Folder Action buttons to manage your folders. The Trash and Notes folders cannot be deleted or renamed.

File Details ()

Each file listed will show who uploaded the file as well as the date, time, size and status indicators. The upload date and time is in local time. The status indicators will tell you different statuses of the file such as whether the file has been read. The encryption icon indicates your file is encrypted, anonymous and unreadable while in storage.

Public Uploads ()

And finally, when you're ready to have someone upload documents securely to your WhistleBox account, there are 2 easy ways to do so.

From the MyWhistleBox.com home page, they can click the Upload button and follow the instructions. They will need you to provide your WhistleBox Address which by default is /[Box Name].

(OR)

To make it easier to request documents from someone, you can also send them an Upload Request containing a private WhistleLink to your upload page. Once at the upload page, they can simply drag & drop files and securely upload to your WhistleBox. This method doesn't require you to provide your WhistleBox Address.

Neither method requires the other party to have a MyWhistleBox account.

We encourage you to try both methods on your own account to see how they work. To test the Upload Request, simply use your own email address.
